GLAAD Speaks Out Over Lack of LGBT Characters on TV

Every year, GLAAD releases it’s “Where We Are on TV” list, as a check-up of how networks are doing with regards to the amount of LBGT characters they have on scripted shows. Though the percentages may seem minor, there has been a drop in gay and bisexual characters, down 3.9% for the 2011-2012 season, in comparison to 2 seasons ago.

Glee’s Jane Lynch has given fans some insight when it comes to the roles she chooses to portray. Recently talking to the New York Post, Lynch, who plays the evil plotting, track suit wearing, Cheerios coach, Sue Sylvester on the Fox musical series, says she’s “fascinated with extremities.”

Though there are certainly many fans of the American Pie series of movies who are eagerly anticipating the film series’ upcoming sequel American Reunion, the cast of the series collectively haven’t exactly lit the box office on fire outside of the series.
