Jane Lynch: I’m “fascinated with extremities”

    Actress Jane Lynch

Glee’s Jane Lynch has given fans some insight when it comes to the roles she chooses to portray.  Recently talking to the New York Post, Lynch, who plays the evil plotting, track suit wearing, Cheerios coach, Sue Sylvester on the Fox musical series, says she’s “fascinated with extremities.”

Adding that she loves to watch people, “who go so far. I’m a fan of Melissa McCarthy in “Bridesmaids,” how far she went. The huge choices she makes. Remember she was wearing like carpal-tunnel braces in “Bridesmaids”? Just insane. She went so far, but didn’t cross the line. I am obsessed with that, how far you can go.”

While Lynch may enjoy playing those scary and delusional women, there was an extreme character even Jane was nervous to play at one time.  “When I sang Guatemalan Love Song to Steve Carell in 40-Year-Old Virgin I was very nervous about doing that. I didn’t tell anybody I was going to do that. Nobody knew. It was supposed to be a scene about something else, but I also added that. The only thing I did is, I told Steve Carell right before we rolled, “I’m probably going to sing you a song.” And he went, “All right.” And up until the moment I wasn’t sure if I was going to do it.”
