Ruffalo points out that acting in from of a green screen has close parallels to theater training.
“I didn’t go to graduate school for acting. I learned everything by being in rooms and watching rehearsals I wasn’t even called for because I was learning,” Domingo said.
The series is about a scam artist who’s been impersonating female executives in an attempt to lure actors and other victims with the promise of huge career opportunities.
“When kids go, ‘OK, you be this and I’ll be this.’ That ability doesn’t leave us. What does leave us is a lack of self-consciousness. Our job is to hold on to that,” Scott said.
The casting directors also talk about self-tape submissions and being adaptable in auditions.
Quan admits that he found the technical jargon challenging, and turned to co-star Hiddleston for advice.

“[Braff] is a comedic ninja and to have our lead guy also be a super talented filmmaker in his own right? It was amazing to have that presence on set, just as a sort of a spiritual brother,” Wright said.
As a young actor, Wright had the opportunity to work with the Academy Award winner when he asked Poitier for his advice.
Cooper points out that because he is playing Bernstein at three different ages, he had to approach his portrayal in three different ways.
Butler confesses that he always feels nervous about taking on new projects and how he will perform the particular character.
