Happy birthday, Alexander Skarsgard! The True Blood star turns 41 years old today.

Skarsgard recently appeared in the dramatic HBO series Big Little Lies. Though the show is told from the perspective of three women, Skarsgard has been nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of an abusive husband.

In this conversation presented by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation and moderated by Jenelle Riley of Variety, Skarsgard talks about his portrayal of the character and playing such a dark role.
