K
enneth Branagh is feeling the heat from fanboys over his decision to cast Idris Elba as Heimdall in the upcoming film Thor, with their primary argument being it is wrong for a black actor to portray a Nordic god.
Elba, talking to the Hollywood Reporter, said that, “It’s so ridiculous. We have a man who has a flying hammer and wears horns on his head. And yet me being an actor of African descent playing a Norse god is unbelievable? I mean, Cleopatra was played by Elizabeth Taylor, and Gandhi was played by Ben Kingsley.”
