WonderCon Interview: Reed Diamond on ‘Wayward Pines’: “As an actor, what’s most satisfying is to play nuanced characters. And we have that in spades”

Reed Diamond talks about the secrets of the show, his character and working with the cast.

Reed Diamond plays toymaker Harold Ballinger in FOX’s upcoming limited-series, Wayward Pines. His character, according to him, is not what he seems… but really, aren’t all toymakers like that?

The show, directed by M. Night Shyamalan also stars Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino, Melissa Leo, Toby Jones, Terrance Howard, Juliette Lewis, Tim Griffin and Shannyn Sossamon.

It tells the story of a Secret Service agent (Dillon) who travels to Wayward Pines, Idaho, in search of two federal agents who have gone missing and he soon finds out that he may never get out of the town alive.

I joined in on a roundtable interview at WonderCon where he talks about the secrets of the show, his character and working with the cast. As a bit of an added bonus, I talked to him about an episode of Homicide I appeared on when he was one of the stars. We didn’t have any scenes together but we chatted a bit and I have to say, it was a very fun moment for me.
