Reinders, who’s previously starred on Broadway in ‘Wicked’ and ‘Gypsy’, described the show as “if ‘The Book of Mormon’ and ‘Spamalot’ and 42nd St. all had a baby.”
It’s ironic that one of the most experienced Broadway musical actors on the NBC television series Smash, Brian D’Arcy James, plays one of the characters who isn’t involved in the Broadway business.
It was just reported that 2 series-regulars and 2 recurring actors were axed from NBC’s Smash.
James says that while we’ll see Frank again this season, he doesn’t know if the character will return for season two, but confesses, “I sure hope so! I honestly don’t have any idea, but I’m lobbying hard for that to be the case. What’s a good Broadway show without a Chemistry teacher?”
