Brie currently stars in Netflix’s critically acclaimed show GLOW, executive produced by Jenji Kohan and co-created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch. Brie has been nominated for back to back Golden Globe nominations in 2018 and 2019 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy and SAG Award nominations in 2018 and 2019 for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series. Brie also received Critics Choice Award nominations in both 2019 and 2020 for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. The show was also nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, two SAG Award nominations for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series (2018, 2019) and a Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy Series.

On the big screen, she starred in Steven Spielberg’s The Post playing the daughter of Meryl Streep’s character. The film was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Motion Picture and also received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Motion Picture – Drama and a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Picture and Best Acting Ensemble. That year, she also starred in James Franco’s The Disaster Artist, which was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy.

She recently completed production on Dave Franco’s directorial debut, The Rental, starring opposite Dan Stevens. Additionally, Brie has two films going to Sundance: Horse Girl, which she also co-wrote with Jeff Baena and will release on Netflix on February 7, 2020, and PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN, starring opposite Carey Mulligan and Bo Burnham, which will be released by Focus Features on December 25, 2020.

Brie has had five films premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, including Jeff Baena’s The Little Hours in 2016; Jeff Baena’s Joshy and Leslye Headland’s Sleeping with Other People opposite Jason Sudeikis in 2015; Jordan Vogt-RobertsThe Kings of Summer opposite Nick Offerman and Megan Mullaly in 201;3 and Save the Date opposite Lizzie Caplan in 2012. Her other film credits include How to Be Single opposite Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson, Get Hard opposite Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, The Five-Year Engagement opposite Emily Blunt and Jason Segel, Scream 4 opposite Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Neve Campbell and Montana Amazon opposite Olympia Dukakis and Haley Joel Osment.

Her voice-over work includes playing Uni-Kitty in The Lego Movie and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, which have grossed more than $660 million worldwide. She also voices the character of Diane in Netflix’s award-winning adult animated series, BoJack Horseman; Brie also lends her voice to the new animated film Weathering with You alongside Lee Pace and Riz Ahmed, which opens nationwide on January 17, 2020.

She is a producer on the TV LAND series Teachers, which originally aired in 2016. This series follows six elementary school teachers who are dedicated to their students but don’t have it together in their personal lives.

Brie attended the California Institute of the Arts where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting and also studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland.
