KJ: Listen- about what happened last night- The whole thing was kind of weird, and I wanted to make sure you’re not- not angry or anything.

All that stuff I said about your father- It wasn’t even my idea. It was Pete’s idea, and. ..you know. This is a new town. This is my chance to make friends.

I think we’re a lot alike. You’re super smart. I’m super smart. We’re both huge geeks and kinda weird-

So I just want you to know, if in the future, we’re at school and we run into each other, and I don’t say anything- it’s not because I don’t like you. I definitely like you. I’ve never met anyone like you.

It’s just that. I can’t afford to screw this up. I might never get another chance to be like- one of the normal kids.

So. No hard feelings, right? I hope you understand.
