SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity: Just Say No to Tyler Perry’s ‘Madea On The Run’

Tyler Perry Madea
Super producer Tyler Perry might make money hand over fist with his Madea character in film and on stage, but SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity are telling members to steer clear of Perry’s current tour of Madea On The Run.

According to Actors’ Equity, Perry and producers have not signed an Equity contract for the tour. SAG-AFTRA is joining the “Do Not Work” ban in solidarity. Until the contract is signed, the unions are asking its members not to take jobs with the production.

In addition to Perry, the cast includes Cassi Davis, Tony Hightower, Maurice Lauchner, Rhonda Davis, David Stewart, Jr., Latoya London, Claudette Ortiz, Judith Franklin, Dorsey Levens.

The Madea On The Run tour runs through late November.
