Here’s a big run-through of “Thank you cams” and other assorted videos from last nights Emmy Awards.
There were a bunch that I watched but I just posted the one’s that either entertaining or interesting.
All are pretty good but if you watch one, I’d suggest the Eric Stonestreet videos or Bryan Cranston video below. Ok, that’s more than one – sorry!

The Hollywood Reporter gathered a handful of Emmy Nominees (Matthew Weiner, Mindy Kaling, John Slattery, Eric Stonestreet, Jeff Probst, Lea Michele and Rose Byrne) for a chat recently.
I love these talks they do but I wish they would make the whole conversations available instead of soundbites.
Regardless, check them out! (The video might take a second to load)
In this video, Lea Michele talks about how she got the part on Glee after meeting Ryan Murphy a couple years earlier.

If you’re as excited as I am about the upcoming season of Dexter, you’ll like this.
It’s got a bunch of previously unseen footage which alone makes it worth watching. The cast also talks about whats going to happen starting September 26th!

Matthew Weiner, creator of Mad Men, give his thoughts on why the actors on the show haven’t won any Emmys.
Part of the reason? “The kind of acting that they do is not very showy,” he says.
Maybe that will change Sunday.
Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet on casting his TV Mom

I love Modern Family and Eric Stonestreet is one of the reasons why.
In this video, he makes me like him even more. He’d like to get a “great actress who you may not be familiar with” to play his mom instead of stunt casting.
Check out the reason why he wants this to happen!
Josh Hutcherson’s Spider-Man Audition

This is what happens when you really want a part.
Apparently, Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are All Right, Journey To The Center Of The Earth) spent his own money to create this audition video for the re-boot of Spider-Man. He got a fight choreographer and did his own stunts even. This got the attention of Sony and the director, Marc Webb… which put him the running for the part.
Cool, huh?
Thanks to Latino Review for posting this.
Steve Carell and Paul Rudd attempt to plug ‘Dinner For Schmucks’

Steve Carell and Paul Rudd are out plugging their new film, Dinner for Schmucks. I love Paul Rudd and think the movie looks pretty funny.
The video is 10 minutes long but I thought it was hilarious. Rudd pretty much takes over the interview showing off his French accent, his face dancing skills and has a on-going joke with his water glass (you’ll just have to watch).
Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page answer questions about Inception

Inception comes out today and I can’t say enough good things about this film. The performances are wonderful, the script is smart, special effects are awesome and Christopher Nolan can do no wrong.
How’s that for a plug?
Here are two videos with Leonardo DiCaprio and Ellen Page answering questions that were submitted from movie-goers. Most of it’s ‘fluff” but there are a couple things in there I think you’ll find interesting.
In this 2nd video, they were asked what they did on their downtime while filing the movie:
Perseverance As An Actor

Here’s a good (although long – almost 2 hours!) video about perseverance as an actor.
David Ackert (The Ackert Advisory) starts off with some info on how to exactly do that. Then at the 56:50 mark, Eric Souliere (UDK), Jaime Ferrar (JFA Agency) come in and give their view of things. What’s the best way to get in front of an agent, whats the best way to be more effective at booking and tons more info.
I’ve met Eric a couple of times and he’s direct and will tell it like it is, so he’s a great person to take advice from.
From Improv to Stand-up: The Business Of Comedy

The SAG Foundation had a panel on the business of comedy a couple of weeks ago.
On the panelist was Oscar Nuñez (The Office), Bruce Smith (Omnipop Talent Group), David Goldman (Comedy Time Network), stand-up comic/casting director Lesley Wolff and casting associate/stand-up comic Chris Gehrt.
They talked about why improv training is important, the reality of open mic nights and the importance of writing.
Incidentally, I took a class from Lesley Wolff once and it was such a great experience. It was a 5-week course and where the final night, you did a 5 minute stand-up routine at the Improv. If you get a chance, I highly recommend it!
