It’s Official: Eddie Murphy is hosting the 84th Academy Awards
September 6, 2011 by Lance Carter
Over the weekend, word got out the Brett Ratner, one of the new producers of the 2012 Ocsars, wanted Eddie Murphy to host this years telecast. Makes sense, since he just directed Murphy in the upcoming film, Tower Heist.
I thought it was a great idea and so did everyone else because it was just announced that he will, in fact, be the host.
Murphy, who was nominated for an Oscar in 2006 for his supporting role in Dreamgirls, said in a statement: “I am enormously honored to join the great list of past Academy Award hosts from Hope and Carson to Crystal, Martin and Goldberg, among others. I’m looking forward to working with Brett and Don on creating a show that is enjoyable for both the fans at home and for the audience at the Kodak Theatre as we all come together to celebrate and recognize the great film contributions and collaborations from the past year.”
The Oscars® will be broadcast on Sunday, February 26, 2012.

@ Daily Actor. Yes we use to hang at Carlos n Charlies on Sunset. Then I catered Beverly Hills Cop! He was exactly the same in person. Wearing leather suits and trying to dance. Very funny. Prince also! Hahaha. The 80′s.
