Watch: A Conversation with ‘Midnight Special’ Star Michael Shannon

Michael Shannon‘s fourth collaboration with director Jeff Nichols, Midnight Special, is being released today. Though Shannon is best known for his roles on Boardwalk Empire and in Man of Steel, many would say that Shannon’s best acting work has been with Nichols — which includes their critically acclaimed 2011 film Take Shelter. Regardless of how audiences have encountered Shannon, there are few who forget his intense (and sometimes intensely comic) performances.

In this conversation presented by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation and moderated by Jenelle Riley of Variety, Shannon talks in-depth about his entire career, including his collaborations with Nichols.
