“I am the Internet guy,” he said in an interview with The New York Times.  “But the reason the Onion News Empire was such an easy decision to make is I so trust that side of the fence now.  It’s a little like being Off Broadway—that sort of excitement of not knowing what it is going to be.  The fervency of it all.”

Tambor definitely got to take advantage of the unknown when it came to Arrested Development’s crazy shooting schedule.  “The construction of the episodes was such that sometimes you’d be shooting Episode 1, and you’d change your clothes and go into Episode 9 and back to 4.  But I love that as an actor.  I used to be the opposite.  I was the guy who got to the theater at 5:30 and did it twice before I went on, and now I’m at the other end of that spectrum.  I love not knowing exactly where I’m going.”

One thing Tambor does know for certain: the Arrested Development fans aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

“I think the groundwork [for a feature film] is already there,” he said.  “The scenes look filmic.  That may be my Pollyanna showing but I have no problem with it.  And remember: we have nine go-tos, and now there are other characters.  So we have a lot of ways to go before an audience will get tired of us.”
