Dark-Shadows-posterDark Shadows: In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet–or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin.

Sorry, but Tim Burton f’ed up this one. This looks beyond horrible. Why remake a series to turn it into SOMETHING different beyond the original scope of the original producers. It is not a reinvention, it is a travesty. Yhis looks so stupid. Just what America needs, more lame dumb British inspired humor. BOMB! Tim Burton must have entered dementia when starting this product!

Another example of a classic RUINED by today’s remakes! All of the old fans will not like this and all the new ones who don’t remember the show might like it, but why remake a remake if it is totally different? Because the director cannot write HIS own shit and create his own characters. Another classic example of directors without vision leaching off quality work of others pre 1990. I like Burton’s work but this proves without a doubt that he is not only out of ideas, but he supports a lack of vision and insight on this project. What a waste of Dark Shadows!
