After 30 previews and 473 regular performances, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying is set to close Sunday, May 20th.

This wasn’t as shocking to me as was today’s announcement that Leap of Faith was going to close after just getting the Tony Nomination but still, anytime a show closes gives is always a bit of sad news.

Unless it’s one I hated. I’m talking to you Lysistrata Jones.

I saw How To Succeed when it starred Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette and I loved it. The show was fantastic from start to finish. I’m not sure how it is with Nick Jonas and Beau Bridges now in the lead roles though. Read more

Nick Jonas to take over the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in Broadway’s ‘How To Succeed’

Nick Jonas is taking over the role of ‘J. Pierrepont Finch’ in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying from Darren Criss who is taking the role from Daniel Radcliffe.

Get that?

Jonas, who will start his run on January 24, 2012, already has some good roles under his belt theatrically. As a kid, he was ‘Young Scrooge/Tiny Tim’ in A Christmas Carol, Little Jake’ in Annie Get Your Gun, ‘Chip’ in Beauty and the Beast and 2003: ‘Gavroche’ in Les Misérables. Most recently, he was in the London’s West End production of Les Misérables and was last seen as ‘Link Larkin’ in the Hollywood Bowl’s version of Hairspray.

I actually think he’s a good fit. Much better than Criss, who is only in the role thanks to his part on Glee. Hopefully I’m wrong. Either way, I’m just glad I saw the show with Radcliffe. He was absolutely wonderful.

The press release is below.
