SAG and AFTRA are trotting out the big guns to get us – the collective ‘us’ – to vote ‘Yes’ on the upcoming merger.
George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin and new Academy Award Winner Octavia Spencer are on the flyer that most of us received showing their support for the merger.
Below are videos from the casts of Modern Family, The Office, Hawaii Five-O and a handful more shows in support of the vote.
The ballots are out and on the way to our mailboxes. How are you going to vote?
If you’re curious in the opposition, here are some Vote “No” videos.

2012 Golden Globes Winners: ‘The Descendants’ and ‘The Artist’ Come Out On Top
January 16, 2012 by Lance Carter
The Golden Globes are usually the best awards show to watch, mostly because the people in the audience are drinking up a storm. This one though didn’t seem as fun as years past.
There were some good moments – George Clooney‘s acceptance speech was a highlight as was Morgan Freeman‘s award for lifetime achievement.
I also didn’t think Ricky Gervais was as funny as last year. Maybe he held back a bit because of all of the controversy he got?
The Artist took took home the Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical award while star Jean Dujardin got the statue for best acting.
The Descendants won for Best Motion Picture Drama and it’s star, George Clooney, for best acting.
In TV, Modern Family won for Best Television Series Comedy or Musical while and Homeland got the drama award.
18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award Nominations

The nominations for the 18th Annual SAG Awards were announced this morning while I was patiently sitting in an airport waiting to board my flight to JFK.
Congrats to all the nominees!
But, I just have one WTF as I go through the list: Glee was nominated as in the Ensemble category? The cast is fine with Jane Lynch, Heather Morris and Matthew Morrison being the standouts but nominating the cast for best ensemble? Seriously?
Check out the nominations below!

And the Winners Are…. List of the 2011 Emmy Award Winners
September 18, 2011 by Lance Carter

Modern Family was the big winner at the 63rd annual Emmy Awards, taking home both supporting comedy acting awards (Ty Burell and Julie Bowen) and Outstanding Comedy Series. Well deserved if you ask me.
Mad Men won its fourth award for Outstanding Drama Series (Yes!) while Downtown Abbey won for Outstanding Directing For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Dramatic Special. I’ve been sitting on Downton Abbey for months now so I guess that means I have to watch it.
In the acting catagories, Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory) won for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy and in something that was a surprise, Melissa McCarthy won Outstanding Actress in a Comedy for Mike & Molly.
In the dramatic categories, Kyle Chandler won Outstanding Actor in a Drama for Friday Night Lights and Julianna Margulies got her Outstanding Actress in a Drama for The Good Wife.
Peter Dinklage deservedly won Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series for his work on HBO’s Game of Thrones while Margo Martindale won Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series for Justified.
And finally, Kate Winslet is one more award down on her quest of EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) glory having one Outstanding Leading Actress in a Mini-series or Movie for Mildred Pierce.

Eric Stonestreet on ‘Modern Family’ fans: “I hope they understand that I’m an actor playing a character”
Perhaps the only downside of Modern Family’s successful two-year run on ABC has been that the show’s Eric Stonestreet has to break the news that he’s not gay to disappointed fans of his flamboyantly homosexual character, Cam.
“That’s the sort of thing I’ve got to stop caring about,” Stonestreet told Halifax, Nova Scotia’s The Chronicle Herald for a recent story. “People are disappointed sometimes but I hope they understand that I’m an actor playing a character. They love the character and they might like me too if they give me a chance.”
The 39-year-old takes cues from his mother in playing Cam, an openly gay man who lives with his partner and their adopted daughter on the popular comedy, which centers around three related families living in southern California.
“The thing I found that was familiar was my mom and how my mom acts and talks and sounds and reacts,” he explained, saying that he quickly found the mixing of her mannerisms and his large body type “would work in opposition perfectly.”
His Modern Family role certainly wasn’t an easy transition from his pre-sitcom days, when he appeared on dramas like The West Wing, NCIS and CSI. “The year before Modern Family I think I killed three people on TV,” he laughed.
Primetime Emmy Nominations (with video); Melissa McCarthy’s reaction, Mad Men’s 19 nominations and more!
July 14, 2011 by Lance Carter
The 63rd annual Primetime Emmy Award nominees were announced this morning by Mike & Molly star Melissa McCarthy and Fringe star Joshua Jackson.
The HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce received the most nominations overall with 21 including but since it’s still sitting on my TIVO waiting for me to watch it, I can’t say anything about it.

Mad Men (AMC) got 19 total nominations and will go up against The Good Wife (CBS), Friday Night Lights (NBC), Dexter (Showtime), Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones (both on HBO) in the Outstanding Drama Series.
Big Bang Theory (CBS), Glee (FOX), Modern Family (ABC) and The Office, 30 Rock and Parks and Recreations (NBC) got the nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series.
In both categories, you usually get a “WTF?” but not this year. All of the shows are great but I’m partial to Mad Men, Dexter and Boardwalk Empire in the Drama category. In Comedy, I can’t decide between Modern Family or Parks and Recreations, but any show that kills off a miniature horse, I think has the lead (Parks). Rest in Peace, Lil Sebastian.
In acting nominations, I loved that Mireille Enos (The Killing) and Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men) in the Drama categories. In Comedy, I’d love it if Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) won, but with Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly), Martha Plimpton (Raising Hope) and Tina Fey (30 Rock) nominated, who can complain?
For the guys, Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire) might be the one to beat in the Drama category, but come on… Timothy Olyphant (Justified), Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Light’s), Hugh Laurie (House) and Jon Hamm (Mad Men)? All of them are fantastic, although I would like anyone other than Hugh Laurie to win.
Louie C.K., nominated for lead comedy actor for his work on Louie should win hands down if there’s any justice in the world although Johnny Galecki (Big Bang Theory) who’s never been nominated might not help his cause. Also nominated, Jim Parsons (last year’s winner), Matt LeBlanc (Episodes), Steve Carrell (The Office) and Alec Baldwin (30 Rock).
On the video below, there’s a great moment that has Melissa McCarthy’s reaction to her nomination. Check it out at the 4 minute mark!
The show airs Sept. 18 on Fox with Glee‘s Jane Lynch as the host.
