Liam Neeson has become one of the leading international motion-picture actors today. Whether it is his Academy Award®-nominated role of Oskar Schindler in Steven Spielberg’s highly acclaimed Schindler’s List (1993), his award-winning portrayal of the legendary Irish Republican hero in Michael Collins (1996), or his role as controversial sex therapist Alfred Kinsey in the critically acclaimed Kinsey (2004), Neeson continues to display an acting range matched by few.
In January 2012, Neeson starred in the box-office hit The Grey. Directed by Joe Carnahan, this action-adventure featured an oil drilling team that struggled to survive after a plane crash that stranded them in the wild of Alaska. Hunting the humans was a pack of wolves that saw them as intruders.
In February 2011, Neeson was seen opposite Diane Kruger and January Jones in Unknown, a psychological thriller about stolen identity. Neeson also co-starred in the Warner Bros. remake of the 1981 film Clash of the Titans, which tells the myth of Perseus and his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the princess Andromeda. A sequel is currently in the works for release in 2012. Read more

This trailer looks great. Finally an Oliver Stone movie that I’m excited about again.
Savages: Three-time Oscar®-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone returns to the screen with the ferocious thriller Savages, featuring the all-star ensemble cast of Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch and Demian Bichir. The film is based on Don Winslow’s best-selling crime novel that was named one of The New York Times’ Top 10 Books of 2010.
Laguna Beach entrepreneurs Ben (Johnson), a peaceful and charitable Buddhist, and his closest friend Chon (Kitsch), a former Navy SEAL and ex-mercenary, run a lucrative, homegrown industry—raising some of the best marijuana ever developed. They also share a one-of-a-kind love with the extraordinary beauty Ophelia (Lively). Life is idyllic in their Southern California town…until the Mexican Baja Cartel decides to move in and demands that the trio partners with them.
When the merciless head of the BC, Elena (Hayek), and her brutal enforcer, Lado (Del Toro), underestimate the unbreakable bond among these three friends, Ben and Chon—with the reluctant, slippery assistance of a dirty DEA agent (Travolta)—wage a seemingly unwinnable war against the cartel. And so begins a series of increasingly vicious ploys and maneuvers in a high stakes, savage battle of wills.
Director: Oliver Stone
Cast: Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch and Demian Bichir
Chris Klein: “In the movies that I’ve been a part of, I’ve kind of scratched and fought and kicked to be a part of”

When Chris Klein didn’t appear as Oz in the third American Pie movie, American Wedding, many assumed that he didn’t want to continue in the franchise.
However, in an interview with The Huffington Post Klein reveals that it’s not that he didn’t want to star in the American Wedding, he wasn’t asked. But Oz is back in American Reunion, and he talks about returning to his most famous role and how he’s fared elsewhere in the movie industry.
When asked if he thought of turning down American Reunion out of spite after being left out of American Wedding, Klein indicates otherwise. He says, “Never. No, there’s none of that. Not with this franchise. That’s not who we are. That’s not how we got cast in these movies. These movies to me, personally, are incredibly special. As not only a willing participant in these movies, but also as an audience member. And I cherish my moments in the American Pie franchise and I’m really grateful that I get to be a part of it. Because back in 1998 when we made the first movie, we were all just hoping to get a summer job. And then American Pie did well and all of us were ushered into acting careers based on the success of the very first movie.” Read more

Here’s a new red-band trailer, 5 clips and a featurette for American Reunion, which opens this weekend.
I loved the first one film – the 2nd, not so much. But, I think the cast works great together and they’re like an old comfortable shoe that I can’t wait to try on again.
American Reunion: It was summer 1999 when four small-town Michigan boys began a quest to lose their virginity. In the years that have passed, Jim and Michelle married while Kevin and Vicky said goodbye. Oz and Heather grew apart, but Finch still longs for Stifler’s mom. Now these lifelong friends have come home as adults to reminisce about — and get inspired by — the hormonal teens they once were.
Director: Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg
Cast: Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Seann William Scott

The Actor’s Wardrobe: Thoughts on Dressing for Success

Being taken seriously as an actor, as well as having a good audition, might just hinge on picking the right outfit.
It continues to astound casting directors, producers, agents and directors when an actor shows up for an audition dressed inappropriately. They often view this as so unprofessional that the actor is immediately disqualified from any serious consideration for the role. Of course, the term “dressed inappropriately” is pretty subjective, so let’s try to define it.
My Bohemian Lifestyle
Many actors, especially it seems the younger ones, want to create the impression that they’re living the life of the free-spirited artiste. One of the ways they show this is by wearing the uniform of the iconoclast to an audition, whatever that may be at the moment, regardless of what role they’re reading for. But one of the differences between being an amateur and a professional is in your behavior or attitude towards the work. So what does it say about your professionalism when you show up to read for the role of a lawyer looking like you just rolled out of bed? Okay, perhaps that example is a little extreme but, if you’ve been auditioning for any length of time, you’ve seen this kind of faux pas. Read more
