Both Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott are TV veterans, with Q recently starring in Nikita and McDermott recently starring in both American Horror Story and Hostages. This season both star as the leads of Stalker, a drama series on CBS about LAPD detectives who specialize in crimes that have to do with stalking.

In a conversation presented by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation and moderated by Jarett Wieselman of BuzzFeed, the pair talk — and joke — about their experiences as actors, why they continue to work on television, how they got involved with this thrilling series, and provide advice on how actors can further their careers.

Stalker premieres Wednesday, October 1 on CBS.
