Are you an actor who wants to promote your latest project?

The Publicity App for Actors

Are you an actor who wants to promote your latest project? Or maybe, you’re a director who needs to get people in the seats. It’s not easy spreading the word without a publicist and email blasts only go so far.

Now, there is a new app that puts a publicist in the palm of your hand for free. No PR contracts, no commitments, no fine print. All you need is creativity and a little bit of critical thinking.

The Publicity App guides actors and directors through the initial steps needed to launch any publicity campaign. It also helps them identify a PR plan based on the user’s publicity needs.

It was created by Macias PR – a New York based public relations firm that was recently named the 2015 top “PR Consultant Firm of the Year – USA” by Finance Monthly. The founder of the firm, Mark Macias, is a former Executive Producer with NBC and Senior Producer with CBS.

Macias says the app contains the same approach that his firm uses with all of their media campaigns. The firm has scored some major media placements with the Wall Street Journal, Good Morning America, as well as local news outlets like the New York Post, Channel 11 in New York and others.

He said that the app “was created to help the small business owner, entrepreneur, actor or anyone who wants to get publicity, but doesn’t know where to begin. Every successful publicity campaign requires critical thinking, creativity, even an assessment of the competition. The user will still need to think through their publicity and use creativity to identify interesting angles. But for the person who doesn’t know anything about PR, the publicity app will help them identify starting points.”

Macias says there are essentially six types of publicity campaigns and each campaign requires a different approach. He says they are:

1) Startup publicity
2) Credibility campaign
3) Crisis management
4) Revenue generation campaign
5) Online/SEO campaign
6) Event promotion

The app guides users through all six of those media campaigns. “Most actors or directors will want to focus on the event promotion section of the publicity app. In that section,” he said, it “guides users through the initial steps for identifying angles.”

The app also contains case studies and examples in the different categories so users can see how a successful campaign was executed in their area of need. And at the end, users get to test their knowledge through different PR games.
