It’s hard to believe that today is Natalie Portman‘s 34th birthday — because if you’re like me, you’d expect her to be older considering how long she has been acting. Portman was cast as a eleven year-old in Léon: The Professional, Luc Besson’s memorable crime thriller in which she serves as an apprentice to an assassin.
To celebrate Portman’s birthday, here’s eleven year-old Portman’s audition video for Léon: The Professional. Even at her young age she manages to maintain a hundred-yard stare and a number of emotions in less than a minute and a half. It’s no surprise that Portman is still doing impressive work all these years later.
