Watch John Travolta in a 1971 Commercial for $13 Pants

John Travolta turns sixty-one today, and although he became a target of ridicule about this time last year for his “Adele Dazeem” fumble at last year’s Oscars he has a long history of great roles in films like Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction.

The clip above is not one of those great roles.

Like all actors, Travolta had to start somewhere. Before he ever appeared in a TV show or a movie, Travolta appeared in this 1971 commercial for Haggar Slacks. Forty-four years later Haggar is still making pants and Travolta is still acting, so it appears that despite the cheesy commercial everything worked out for the best for both of them!
