Elizabeth Hurley Joins NBC’s ‘Wonder Woman’ As “the evil villain”

Elizabeth Hurley will join the cast of NBC's Pilot "Wonder Woman" as a villain.

Elizabeth HurleyA few weeks ago The Daily Actor reported that “Friday Night Lights” star Adrianne Palicki will be playing Wonder Woman in NBC’s new pilot. Today it was reported that Elizabeth Hurley will be joining the cast as the show’s villain.

Today on her Twitter page Hurley wrote, “Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman. I’ll be playing the evil villain. Can’t wait.” (@ElizabethHurley)

The actress hasn’t confirmed what role she will be playing but an early draft of the pilot’s script suggest she will be taking on the role of Veronica Cale, a scientist and rival business woman who creates an evil drug that makes people stronger.

Hurley’s part was originally written as a guest spot, but could be changed to a recurring role if the pilot gets picked up.

Written by David E. Kelley, the pilot  is a reinvention of DC Comics series, in which Wonder Woman, otherwise known as Diana Prince, fights crime while trying to balance her life as a corporate executive and modern woman.
