For a few years Brie Larson was one of those “I know that actress!” people. In other words, the type of actress who you recognize from many different projects like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Rampart, but don’t yet know her name. That has certainly changed in the past two years, and Larson is becoming known for being a versatile film and television actress. In an interview with Vulture to promote The Gambler, she spoke about what she’s grateful for now that she’s a go-to actress for leading roles.

When asked her career has changed since appearing in critically films like Don Jon and The Spectacular Now, a blockbuster success in 21 Jump Street, and her award-winning role in Short Term 12, Larson expresses the positives about getting to a point as an actor where the right scripts are finding her instead of the other way around. She says, “The biggest change is I now have a lot of great scripts at my disposal that people that I love and trust are interested in having me participate in. Before I had to spend so much time auditioning and proving myself. It’s nice now to use more of my time and creative energy toward actually making a product, instead of trying to prove to someone that I can do it.”
