Paget Brewster on ‘Another Period’: “It was one of the best times I’ve ever had in my life”

Comic-Con: Another Period follows the lives of the obscenely rich Bellacourt family and their many servants in turn-of-the-century Rhode Island in this historical satire about narcissistic aristocrats and the poor souls in their employ.

The stars and creators, Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome, came to Comic-Con to chat about their new Comedy Central show, bringing along stars Michael Ian Black, Armen Weitzman, Paget Brewster and Executive Producer Jeremy Konner.

In the video, they talk about all the shows Brewster’s appearing in (it’s a lot!), improv and they tell a hilarious story about co-star Rich Fulcher as Mark Twain.

Early in the video, Brewster praises Konner and the difficulty of shooting the series. “Another Period is ten episodes. We shot 35 days, so, each episode is 3 and a half days worth of film,” she said. “Jeremy directed every single episode. We were shooting every single episode concurrently. On one day, we would do scenes from episode six, episode one, episode ten and he had to direct all of it. This has not been done.
What this guy has done has been unprecedented.”

“There would be days when we would be shooting just in one room,” Konner told us at the roundtable. “We would do one direction episode 3, 5, 8, 9 and then we would turn around and then you would have to do the same episode 3, 5, 8, 9 from the other side.”

“It was one of the best times I’ve ever had in my life,” said Brewster.

Another Period airs on Comedy Central on Tuesdays at 10:30pm
