We are also in need of Attractive Eastern Indian Females Age range 30-40. Needed to play powerful but feminine and seductive non-speaking principal.

[VINCENT] LEAD
Male – 25 to 35 to play 30 – No race limitation.
Athletic, comfortable with physical challenges in acting.
Vincent is a late father, unable to manage the pressure of home life. Free lance journalist, Vincent tendency to move from places to another, and chase people’s life is still very strong. Being a stable father was never easy for him. This is why sometimes, violent impulses emerges. Controlling his internal violence is his strongest challenge.
[CLARA] SUPPORTING
Female – 24 to 33 to play 26-30 – Caucasian
Thin, Athletic, long or medium length hair, pale skin, comfortable with physical challenges in acting.
Clara is a strong short woman. She learned life by fighting verbally with men. She though that Vincent was the one. Someone she could trust and stay in peace with. But Vincent’s violence is more and more difficult to control.
Clara has no choice but to be stronger than ever to face Vincent.
[THE ATTACKER] SUPPORTING
Male – 30 to 40 – No race limitation.
Athletic, comfortable with physical challenges in acting, stunt abilities, unshaven face.
The Attacker represents the bad impulses of Vincent. He is Vincent’s rage, his dark violent face.

Portland – Lost In Yonkers

Hillsboro Artists Regional Theatre will be holding auditions for Neil Simon‘s Pulitzer-prize and Tony Award winning play LOST IN YONKERS, a serio-comedy about family.
To audition, come to the theater, located at the corners of SE 2nd and Washington streets in Hillsboro on Sunday, July 11th at 3pm or Tuesday, July 13th at 7pm. Be prepared to read sides from the script (these may be obtained from the director, Stephen Kelsey). Please contact the director if you need to schedule an audition outside of the above dates.
The show runs from September 10th-Oct. 3rd, Fridays and Saturdays, 7:30pm, Sundays at 2pm. Rehearsals commence July 25th. All roles are unpaid.
The Characters:
Jay- 15, the more hesitant of the two boys, he struggles with both sullen anger and the desire to please (can be cast within a year or two of age specified)
Arty- 13, a bit of a wise-guy but still takes some cues from Jay, not quite on the threshold of manhood like Jay (can also be cast within a year or two of the age specified)
Eddie- about 41, nervous and eager to please, overwhelmed, but loves his boys a great deal
Bella- 35ish (originally played on Broadway and in the movie by Mercedes Ruehl) Bella lives with her mother and is easily confused and flustered. Her emotions are transparent
Grandma Kurnitz- 70′s, (played on Broadway by Irene Worth) she wicks warmth from the room and those in it, life has been unkind and she expects nothing else from it
Louie-36ish, (role originated by Kevin Spacey on Broadway) small-time hood, a bit larger-than-life, a survivor
Gert- 37+, acutely afflicted by her childhood, she’s developed a speech impediment, but has somehow created a life of her own, away from Grandma Kurnitz

Auditioning is both a JOB INTERVIEW and a chance for ARTISTIC EXPRESSION. Learn how you are perceived by auditors and how to manage that image. Have a solid and consistent way of warming up and preparing for auditions. Understand, embrace and balance your role in the audition room, as an artist and as a business entity.
Through ALIGNMENT, FOCUS and PRESENCE, get the AWARENESS to CONNECT to YOURSELF. This workshop draws from physically-based theatre techniques; including, but not limited to, Yoga, Choreographic Theatre, Viewpoints, Suzuki, Roy Hart Vocal Technique, Grotowski, and Heller.
This clinic is open to artists who are committed to improving their auditioning skills and learning to see the audition as a platform to develop their craft… AUDITIONING CAN BE AN OPPORTUNITY INSTEAD OF A HINDRANCE!
