BroadwayConDaily Actor has attended all kinds of media conventions, and one that we are particularly excited to cover is the first-ever BroadwayCon, which will be held in New York City from January 22 to January 24 at the New York Hilton Midtown. Over the three days of programming, BroadwayCon will combine the best aspects of a fan convention and an industry convention. For performers and backstage contributors, BroadwayCon will feature panels, workshops, networking opportunities, and speakers, while for Broadway fans BroadwayCon will feature live performances, meet and greets and photo opportunities.

Guests include Anthony Rapp, Krysta Rodriguez, Jeremy Jordan, Billy Porter, James Monroe Iglehart, and the cast of Hamilton (Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., Phillipa Soo, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and Daveed Diggs). Behind-the-scenes guests include Blake Ross (Editor in Chief, Playbill), Ted Chapin (President, Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization), and Bernie Telsey (Co-Founder, MCC Theater), and producers behind dozens of Broadway hits. A full guest list can be found here.

BroadwayCon has strong support from the Broadway community. It is presented in partnership with Playbill and and a portion of the proceeds of the show will be donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS

The full schedule for BroadwayCon can be found here. Keep in mind that more programming is still being added to the schedule, including whatever “Watch This Space Because Something Awesome Is Going Here” on Friday night at 7:30 PM is, which is “20 years in the making.” We can’t be the only ones who are intrigued! [UPDATE: Only a few hours after we posted this, Playbill.com announced that the “Awesome” event is actually a reunion of the original cast and crew of Rent!]

The first two batches of tickets have sold out, but passes can be purchased in advance at BroadwayCon.com/register for $250 for the full event or $125/day. Passes will also be sold at the door for $150/day.
