Watch: Oscar Winner Alicia Vikander Discusses Her Role in ‘The Danish Girl’

It was a toss-up whether Alicia Vikander would be nominated for Best Supporting Actress for The Danish Girl, Ex Machina, or even for both. As it turns out, not only was Vikander nominated for The Danish Girl, she went home with the Oscar — along with several other pre-Oscar awards. All in all, 2015 was an extraordinary year for Vikander as an actress, and The Danish Girl is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

Prior to her wins, Vikander sat for a chat with Gold Derby editor Daniel Montgomery about her role in The Danish Girl — being the wife of a man who husband undergoes a gender transition nearly 100 years ago.
