Both How I Met Your Mother‘s Josh Radnor and Boardwalk Empire‘s Gretchen Mol will make their Broadway returns after more than a decade absence in Disgraced, written by novelist and screenwriter Ayad Akhtar. Disgraced won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and was previously produced in Chicago, London, and off-Broadway at the LCT3 Theater at Lincoln Center.

Hari Dhillon, who starred in the London production to great acclaim, will be making his Broadway debut in Disgraced. The production will be directed by Kimberly Senior, who previously directed the Chicago and off-Broadway productions. This will be her Broadway directing debut.

The New York Times called Disgraced “a continuously engaging, vitally engaged play” and said that it “bristles with wit and intelligence.” The Telegraph (London) called it “intelligent and thought-provoking” and The Times (London) said it was “riveting,” “excitingly intelligent” and that it “zings with provocation, wit and understanding.”

The design team includes John Lee Beatty (set), Jennifer Von Mayrhauser (costumes), Ken Posner (lighting), and Jill DuBoff (sound). Disgraced is produced by The Araca Group and Lincoln Center Theater.

Disgraced will begin previews on Broadway September 27th and open October 23rd at the Lyceum Theatre.
