2012 Emmy Awards: Backstage Video of the Winners

Backstage video of the Emmy Award Winners

Did you watch the Emmy Awards? I forgot they were on and tuned in about 45 minutes late (I caught the replay later). I thought they were just ok. Of all the Awards shows, the Emmy’s are my least favorite. Not to knock the excellent work of the actors, writers and all the other people who toil on the shows but they are just kind the bastard step-child to the Tony’s and Oscars for me.

There were some ‘huh’ moments for me in last night’s show. I don’t watch Homeland – at least not yet, I plan to right away – but I was surprised with the seasons that Mad Men and Breaking Bad had that one of them didn’t win. Jon Cryer winning for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy over Louis C.K. or Alec Baldwin? Or Julia Louis-Dreyfus over Amy Poehler? And I really wanted Bill Hader to win for his work on Saturday Night Live. The guy is just incredible and hands down should have won.

But, all of the nominees and winners were absolutely deserving of their accolades and congrats to all of them!

Below are most of the backstage interviews from the Awards. Most of the questions are pointless (“If you were to compete in a sport, what would it be?”) – way to go entertainment journalists! – but there are some funny and interesting moments in most of them.

Check them out!
