Watch the Trailers for All the New CBS Fall Shows

CBS only ordered 4 pilots for the fall and the only one that remotely interests me is the Dennis Quaid starrer, Vegas.

Made in Jersey is a Legally Blonde rip-off and Sherlock is a near clone of the BBC’s Sherlock.

Check them out below.

  1. Partners looks absolutely awful. They’re obviously playing it in the same type of farcical, over-the-top way that Will & Grace did, but it ain’t workin’.

Elementary — ugh, they had to make Watson a woman, did they? Now their relationship will have a new — and I think wholly unwelcome — wrinkle: sexual tension. While the production values and the acting both look decent, I’m not enticed. I think I’ll stick with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

Vegas: Seeing Dennis Quaid riding a horse and wearing a cowboy hat immediately brought one iconic image to mind, and I wonder why they didn’t just go ahead and remake “McCloud” with Quaid in the Dennis Weaver part. Again, doesn’t really entice me, but it could be a decent show. And it’s nice to see Chiklis back in a drama.

Made In Jersey doesn’t really look my cup of tea, but at least it appears to be a well-made show, with a good sense of humor mixed in. And although I enjoyed Janet Montgomery on the show “Human Target”, I had no idea she was a Brit until just now.

  2. I think Vegas is the only interesting of the bunch. It’s got a good cast and I love stories about old Vegas. But, I like shows that tell a season-long story, like Mad Men, etc. I’m not a huge fan of one-off shows. Like every hour-long show CBS has.

Totally agree with you on the rest. Elementary is just a rip-off of the BBC show – and yeah, why’d they make Watson a woman?

I interviewed Janet M. a while back. She was incredibly cool… and she does have the Jersey accent down… but I still won’t watch.
