NBC Picks Up Four New Pilots: Three Comedies and ‘Inception’ Styled Drama

February 3, 2011 by

NBC has announced it will be picking up four new pilots – an Inception styled drama, two romantic comedies and an untitled project from one of the producers behind Parks and Recreation.

The psychological thriller REM comes from the creator of Lone Star, Kyle Killen. Compared to the Leonardo DiCaprio’s film Inception, the drama centers around a police detective who wakes up to alternate realities after surviving a horrifying car wreck.

From Party Down co-creator John Enbom, Free Agents is a single-camera, cast contingent comedy about two quirky publicists working at a Hollywood talent agency. Similar in style to The Office, the show is based on the British comedy with the same name.

Family Guy writer Chris Sheridan brings the new comedy LoveLives to the network. It’s described as a sophisticated multi-camera comedy about two couples who struggle with infidelity.

Parks and Recreation producer Dan Goor is behind NBC’s final pilot, an untitled comedy about a young doctor who joins his parents’ medical practice and has to balance his time between patients and his family. Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun will executive produce the pilot with Goor.
