Javier Bardem takes Jack Nicholson’s Advice and “I nailed it!”
February 10, 2011 by Heather-Louise Ferris
Javier Bardem revealed the advice he received from Jack Nicholson before his first Oscar win for ” No Country For Old Men“, during an appearance on NBC’s Tonight Show With Jay Leno. “I was very nervous with my [acceptance speech] list of things and I said, ‘Mr Nicholson, I don’t know what to do’. He said, ‘Drop the names, don’t get emotional and dedicate it your mother’. That’s what I did! I nailed it- it was 45 seconds!”
The star, who is married to Penelope Cruz, also told Leno that it is a “big honor” to have been nominated at this year’s Oscars, where he has been recognized in the ‘Best Actor’ category for his role in the Spanish language film “Biutiful”.
Oh, and as for his new baby son with Cruz, born earlier this month, “Everything is going perfectly, everything is going well.”
