Spider-Man’s Christopher Tierney and the cast speak out about the show
January 4, 2011 by Lance Carter

When I was in New York a couple of weeks ago, I went to see Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. Even though most everyone has reviewed it, I am trying to stick with the mostly un-written rule of keeping my mouth shut till after previews.
That being said, what I saw was still… preview-esque. I’m sure (hoping!) that the show will come together by its February opening.
I also remember Christopher Tierney for the simple reason that he has long hair. There were several instances where I saw his hair popping out of the mask so when it was curtain call, it registered in my brain. I looked him up in the Playbill and didn’t think about it again. Until his accident. I’m extremely glad he’s ok and working his way back to good health.
And I’m a little disheartened about all the horrible things people are saying – not about the show itself – but about shutting it down or even wanting it to fail. Whether of not I liked the show, I think its great for Broadway. It’s got people talking and I think that alone is good for theater. And no, like some columnists have said, people aren’t going to the show to see actors get hurt. They are going to see something they haven’t seen on Broadway. Like it or not, Broadway needs big shows like Spider-Man. Let’s root for its success.
Rant done!
Here is Tierney’s first interview since the accident.
And from this morning Good Morning, America, Tierney and the stars of Spider-Man (Reeve Carney, Patrick Page, Jennifer Damiano and T.V. Carpio) got together to discuss the show, the accident and more.
