6 Casting Directors Reported To Have Received Death Threats

Backstage is reporting that on November 7th, 6 casting directors received death threats via their office phones.

They did not report who received the threats, but the recipients contacted Teamsters Local 399 to inform them what had happened. They, in turn, contacted the authorities.

Ed Duffy, a Teamsters rep said that “It’s a pretty low blow to do something like that to these casting directors. Whether it’s a reality or not, it has to be taken seriously.”

Let’s hope that this was all some sort of awful joke and the person who did it is caught soon.
