Review: Inception
July 16, 2010 by Lance Carter
With a cast and a director like this, how could you not be excited to see this?
Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Cobb, an “extractor”- someone paid to steal people’s ideas while they are dreaming. He’s hired by Ken Watanabe to implant an idea into one of his competitors (Cillian Murphy) for the for financial gain.
Cobb cobbles (like that?) together a team that includes Joseph Gordon-Leavitt, Ellen Page, Dileep Roa and Tom Hardy. Each one specializes in a different area–human forgery and dream architecture. But Cobb’s wife (Marion Cotillard) keeps getting in the way with the mission – which I won’t spoil.
The cast does an incredible job and this film is absolutely amazing; The visuals alone are worth the price of admission as well as the score by Hans Zimmer (the final track, Time, is wonderful).
But lets face it, the real star is director Christopher Nolan. He’s been turning out fantastic work since Momento. Each film he does, his talent seems to expand tenfold.
Definitely see this film.
