CAZT’s suggestion for a Mother’s Day gift

May 7, 2010 by

You’ve heard of CAZT, right?

Its a place in Hollywood where you audition for various casting directors then later when you get home, you can log onto their website to view the audition and see comments from the casting director.

All for $10 a month!

I love it when people figure out more ways to take money from actors.

Anyway, I got this email from them this morning announcing that I can now share my auditions with my mom for Mother’s Day!

Hey Lance,

If your mother is like ours, she’s supported you in a million ways since you moved to LA. For Mother’s Day, show her what you’ve been up to out here.

Announcing CAZT’s new sharing system: CAZT Members can show their auditions videos to anyone.

To share your auditions with your mother (or anyone else):

Enjoy!

The CAZT Team

“Hey Mom, I didn’t get you flowers for Mother’s Day but I did get you this – you can log onto this website and watch some auditions I did! How great is that?? By the way, can I borrow  $10?”

Hey Lance – Thanks for posting about us – we love to hear what actors are thinking, good or bad.

Just want to clear up two things:
    1. CAZT is $11.99 per month, or $59.99 for the year ($5/month)
    2. Lots of actors asked us to be able to show their auditions to other people (acting coaches, managers, etc.)

We thought it would be cute to tie the announcement into Mother’s Day – but we really do think this new feature adds a ton of value to the CAZT membership.

Thanks for the comment and I don’t mean any disrespect at all.

I just think thats a little much. Especially if actors only get one or two auditions at your place a year.

I’m sure actors want to see their auditions (and especially the comments from the casting directors) but if they get one audition that particular month, thats $12 bucks. Have you ever thought of having a per-audition basis? Maybe $1 or $2?

I received a notice for an audition for this company. Thank you for telling me this is a scam.

Well, its not a scam. I’ve auditioned for some pretty good things over there. I’m just saying the fact that they charge you $10 if you want to watch your audition is crap. $2? I’d be ok with. $10? Nope.

It has FINALLY happened. Casting directors selling what’s going on in their heads AND their rooms. It was only a matter of time. Good for them. Its about time they cash in on us.

new color head shot and resume 2$
    Parking off of lot $6
water since the wait is an hour 1$
seeing your scene on “Cazt” 12$
That moment of sheer excitement from thinking about what a casting director is thinking about you while you wait for your manager to call…
    Priceless
