SAG bickering continues

Until all the votes are in and counted for, the he said/she said back and forth is going to continue. This is going to be an ugly fight till then.

Vote No:

Scott Wilson: “The more people that we can get to vote, the better chance we have to get this voted down. I think we have a real chance to defeat this if we can get the information out to the members. We are the last man standing. The other unions have all rolled over.”

David Jolliffee: “SAG members are “war-weary” but if we can get above 30% (of SAG members to vote), we’ll defeat it.”

Vote Yes:

Ned Vaughn: “What I’m hearing from members, again and again, is that they’re thrilled we’ve reached the end of this hard-fought negotiation, and that we’re going to be getting back to work. They’re pleased with the gains in wages and benefits and are also very thankful that we kept our ability to negotiate together with AFTRA in the next round. I’ve heard from lots of actors who are in danger of not qualifying for their health insurance because the jobs just haven’t been there. They’re excited that we have a deal and that we’ll be getting back to work with a raise and even better benefits.”

New York Board Member Paul Christie: “When the film version of Marat/SAG is greenlighted, they will serve as the Greek chorus howling at the moon and praying for a strike somewhere in the universe. They are alone in their belief as usual.”
