Richard Jenkins is no longer a visitor

Richard Jenkins, the 61 year old character actor recently nominated for his performance on The Visitor, has worked with some of the best actors around in his career. But when he thinks about his recent nomination?

“It’s unbelievable. This happens to other people, not to me,” he said.

He had always wanted to take on a leading role, but “this was like a perfect storm of circumstances,” he said. “At this time in my life, I saw it as an incredible opportunity and a gift.”

The one drawback to his newfound success? He’s “not anonymous anymore. It’s hard, but it’s all right. I’m a year away from Social Security.”
