Wanna bet on the Oscars?

I’m not sure why you’d want to waste your money on betting on the Oscars. I prefer wasting my cold, hard cash betting on the NFL if I’m in Vegas… and booze.
According to BetUS.com, here are the front runners:
Mickey Rourke – Best Actor
Anne Hathaway – Best Actress
Heath Ledger – Best Supporting Actor
Penelope Cruz – Best Supporting Actress
Slumdog Millionaire – Best Picture
Best Actor - I still think Sean Penn is going to win Best Actor. He actually turned himself into Harvey Milk. Mickey Rourke was great, but I still think he was playing a version of himself.
Best Actress - I haven’t seen Rachel Getting Married yet (I just got the screener) or or any of the other films except for Doubt so I can’t really give my opinion.
Best Supporting Actor – You gotta give it to Heath Ledger, right? If not..who?
Best Supporting Actress - I have Viola Davis from Doubt. It was a really small part but she was just excellent. I still remember the whole scene so that says something.
Best Picture – Slumdog Millionaire or Milk.
Never mind me. What do you think?

Richard Jenkins, the 61 year old character actor recently nominated for his performance on The Visitor, has worked with some of the best actors around in his career. But when he thinks about his recent nomination?
“It’s unbelievable. This happens to other people, not to me,” he said.
He had always wanted to take on a leading role, but “this was like a perfect storm of circumstances,” he said. “At this time in my life, I saw it as an incredible opportunity and a gift.”
The one drawback to his newfound success? He’s “not anonymous anymore. It’s hard, but it’s all right. I’m a year away from Social Security.”

Christian Bale called into the Kevin and Bean show here in LA to grovel…uh, apologize.
I’ve never listened to this show cause Im not a 13 year old girl so I’m not quite sure why Bale called into this show to apologize rather then go on Jay Leno ala Hugh Grant.
Anyway, listen here

So, a judge has dismissed a the legal bid to reinstate Doug Allen. This clears the for a re-start of contract talks with the AMPTP.
SAG released a statement saying that the bid had been rejected “on the grounds it had no chance of success.”
Here’s the statement:
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Chalfant today denied in full the request for a temporary restraining order seeking to invalidate the SAG national board majority’s written assent of January 26, 2009.
The Judge denied the order on the grounds that the Plaintiffs had no probability of success on the merits of their claims.
“I’m pleased that we can put this matter behind us and dedicate our complete focus to the needs of Screen Actors Guild members. There’s a lot of work ahead of us.” said Screen Ac
tors Guild Interim National Executive Director David White.
The SAG national board of directors will meet jointly with AFTRA on Saturday to discuss upcoming commercial contracts negotiations, and will have a SAG board meeting on Sunday. Both will be held via videoconference in Los Angeles and New York.
