I hear your points. I do think there should be pay. I also think that any actor who is also a producer, or has been one, should not be allowed to sit on the board.
I am not sure if the making public will solve the infighting. (I wish for anything to stop the infighting, actually…) but will more involvement of more people only mean more fighting over the issues and creation of even newer issues to debate and backstab over?
One faction that surely needs to be made more public, more visible, is the members of the AMPTP. In the press, it appears that this whole deal is ALL SAG. The AMPTP doesn’t “exist”…The power people are invisible! The public should see some faces and some business names, as to who these people are. So should SAG members, because most actors have no idea who SAG is in conflict with, and what all this is about , other than inner SAG warfare.
I also think that “materializing” the PEOPLE who are the AMPTP members that are offering such a bad deal, may make them a little less hardlined, themselves. When they are seen by the public, it could have an influence. They would then bear a public responsibility and reputation, for such an offer and influence on actors’ livelihood. They would be accountable, as they actually are; they devised the contract and are at the nexus of this.
