Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight leaving 'Grey's Anatomy'

US Weekly has a quote from cast mate James Pickens Jr. that they are both hi-tailin it out of Seattle Grace.
On Heigl:
“Yes, she is,” Pickens told Us Weekly when asked if Heigl is leaving the ABC hospital drama. “Wherever Katherine goes, I wish her nothing but the best.”
On Knight:
“He’s going too,” Pickens said. “He just wanted to pursue other career paths.”
I swear, I don’t know why actor’s on hit shows want to leave. I know people want to try new things but why can’t these “new things” happen during hiatus?
