Frances Fisher stirs up the SAG strike

Congratulations to Frances Fisher for introducing even more nastiness into a situation that didn’t need any.
Fisher forwarded a pair of anonymous emails to SAG members that suggested they withhold their Screen Actors Guild Award votes for eight actors because of their public support for the opposition to the authorization vote.
In the email, she said the letters were forwards and asked that her name and email be removed if the recipient chose to forward the letters.
Who are the eight actors singled out? Josh Brolin (nominated for “Milk“), Steve Carell (“The Office“), Kevin Spacey (“Recount“), Alec Baldwin (“30 Rock“), Susan Sarandon (“Bernard & Doris“), Tony Shalhoub (“Monk“), Michael C. Hall (Dexter“) and Sally Field (“Brothers and Sisters“).
“If I were a regular, ordinary, not-rich-and-famous actor, and if I wanted my union to be strong so it could fight for me … would I want to give any of these rich-and-famous UNION-UNDERMINERS my vote?” one of the anonymous emails said. “Would I want my union to give them such an honor — MY UNION’s ultimate stamp-of-approval? I would remember those names when I began to mark my ballot.”
Balthazar Getty: His Future, According to Brothers & Sisters Co-Stars

Balthazar Getty‘s future on “Brothers & Sisters” is apparently still up in the air but his co-stars swear they don’t want to see him off the show.
Matthew Rhys, who plays Kevin Walker thinks “the show is going through a slight transition period. How much we’ll see him next season, I don’t know. No one would want him completely gone. We’ve all established ourselves as a family on the show and I hope we continue to do so.”
That doesnt sound like a ringing endorsement, does it? How about….
Rachel Griffiths, who plays Sarah Whedon? “We’re a family,” she said. “We’ll get through it. And all I can say is we love him very dearly and I’m seeing him on Monday and I feel very good about that.”
Dave Annable, the other brother on the show, said he’s “not sure” what the future holds for Getty, but “it would be awful” if he left.
Yeah… he’s so gone.

He’s nominated for two Golden Globes. He doesn’t have time for a real interview!
Do you, as a respected British actor, have to turn your nose up at awards shows?
No, they’re enjoyable, as long as you don’t take them too seriously. I always have a good time. It’s great to see famous people. I’m hooked on seeing show business stars up close.
Since you’re nominated twice, will you drink twice as much?
I’ll drink for everyone else, too.
One last time: You’re working on nothing right now?
Absolutely nothing official. If it gets to March and April and it’s the same, then phone me again and I’ll panic for you.

Sure you do!
I just watched this the other night and it’s great. Richard Jenkins is fantastic as well as the rest of the cast of primarily unknowns.
I particularly loved Richard Kind as Jacob the neighbor (check out his deleted scene on the DVD if you can) – he only has one scene but it’s memorable.
